Muse MCP Terms of service

Current status: [L1: delete this paragraph at launch] Roots Wood Japan Service is in preparation and is not yet in operation. These Terms apply once it starts.

These Terms govern your use of Roots Wood Japan Service, our connector for Muse, and the services we provide from requests made through it (the “Service”). The Service is provided by Roots Wood (“we”), a sole proprietorship based in Noda, Chiba, Japan.

1. The Service

The Service provides information on products, parts, makers, suppliers, and services connected with Japan, and accepts requests for research, source finding, marketing support, logistics advice, consulting, and related work. People at Roots Wood review requests and carry out the work.

We do not hold stock. The connector does not take orders or payments, and it does not arrange purchases or shipments.

2. The connector

  • japan_service_input saves what you send and delivers it to us.
  • japan_service_output returns public information and information on your own requests.
  • We act only on what you send to us with your approval in Muse. Please check it before you approve.
  • Meta and Muse are not parties to any contract between you and us. We do not guarantee an AI agent’s answers.

3. Your account

You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address. Keep access to that address secure. You are responsible for requests made through your account. You must be a business or a person aged 18 or over.

4. Requests and contracts

  • A request number means we received your request. It does not mean we accepted it.
  • We review each request and may decline it.
  • Messages sent through the connector do not form a contract and do not accept a quote.
  • A contract is formed only when we confirm it in writing or by email.

5. Quotes and fees

  • [D4: confirm] Searching our list and sending a request are free. Paid work starts only under a contract formed as described in section 4.
  • A quote states who provides the work, our role, the scope, the full price and currency, what is excluded, the validity period, and key terms.
  • If the price, scope, or terms change, we ask for your approval again.
  • How and when to pay is stated in the quote. We do not take payment through the connector.

6. Delivery and revisions

  • We deliver finished work through the connector, or by another route stated in the quote.
  • Timing is an estimate unless the contract states otherwise.
  • You can ask for a revision. The quote states what is included. We tell you if a revision needs more time or a further fee.

7. Cancellation and refunds

  • Before a contract is formed, you can withdraw a request at no charge.
  • A cancellation request is not complete until we confirm it. We tell you whether it was completed or refused.
  • After a contract is formed, cancellation and refund terms are those stated in the quote. Where we are at fault, we respond in line with applicable law.
  • Cancelling work does not by itself mean a refund has been made. The connector does not process refunds.

8. Research and information

Information and research results reflect what was available at the time and are not a guarantee of any outcome. Availability, price, and lead time shown for a product or supplier are not offers unless we confirm them in a quote. You are responsible for your own decisions.

9. Goods, logistics, and compliance

  • We do not sell goods or arrange shipments through the connector. If we agree to do so, the terms are set out separately in writing, and we may do so only where we hold any license required.
  • We are not a customs broker or a carrier. Logistics advice does not replace their services.
  • Cross-border transactions may require permits, duties, taxes, and compliance with local rules. We may decline work under Japan’s Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Act or other laws.

10. What we do not do

  • We do not provide legal, tax, investment, or medical advice.
  • We do not handle illegal, counterfeit, or restricted goods.

11. Prohibited conduct

  • Providing false information
  • Unauthorized access to the Service or placing excessive load on it
  • Accessing or trying to access another customer’s data
  • Republishing or reselling information from the Service without permission
  • Requests or transactions that violate the law

12. Changes and suspension

We may change or suspend all or part of the Service for maintenance, failures, or other unavoidable reasons.

13. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the fees paid for the work concerned. This limit does not apply to our willful misconduct or gross negligence, or where the law does not allow it.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.

15. Changes to these Terms

We post changes on this page.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The Chiba District Court has exclusive first-instance jurisdiction, unless the law provides otherwise.

These Terms govern your use of Roots Wood Machinery, our connector for Muse and its information pages (the “Service”), provided by Roots Wood (“we”).

1. The Service

The Service provides catalog search, estimates, sourcing requests, quotes, and meeting booking for used and new industrial machinery and related goods. We do not hold stock. We source each item after a request. The sign-in pages and endpoints of our Muse connector are served from rootswood-mcp.toolmaker2001.uk, on a domain we own and operate for global trade.

2. Seller

We are your counterparty. Meta and Muse are not parties to any transaction.

3. Use through AI agents

  • When you use the Service through an AI agent such as Muse, we act only within what you approved.
  • If the price, recipient, or scope changes after approval, we ask for your approval again.
  • We do not guarantee an AI agent’s answers. Please check the information the Service returns before you decide.

4. Quotes and contract formation

  • Each quote states the seller, full price and currency, included costs, validity period, and key terms.
  • Catalog entries show what we can usually source. Estimated prices and lead times are not offers.
  • We confirm availability, condition, and the final price after we secure the item.
  • A contract is formed only when we confirm your order in writing or by email.
  • If the final price or terms differ from what you approved, we ask for your approval again.
  • If we cannot source an item, we tell you and close the request at no charge. We refund anything you have already paid for that item.

5. Condition of used goods

Used goods are delivered in the condition stated in the quote. Please review the photos and description.

6. Export, import, and compliance

  • Cross-border transactions may require permits, duties, taxes, and compliance with local rules. The quote states who handles each.
  • We may decline a transaction under Japan’s Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Act or other laws.
  • You must comply with the laws of the importing country.

7. Cancellation and refunds

Terms for cancellation, returns, and refunds after a contract is formed are stated in the quote. Where we are at fault, we will respond in line with applicable law.
